The Arabic School, established by the YCA in March 1998, is dedicated to teaching the Arabic language to children aged 8 to 14 years. This initiative was born out of the community’s desire for a mother tongue school, and it has been primarily funded by the parents of attending children, reflecting the high value placed on this educational activity.
Most of the teachers at the Arabic School have completed basic teacher training courses, enabling them to effectively engage children in their learning. Additionally, all teachers have completed Level 1 Safeguarding children training and have passed Enhanced CRB checks, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.
Over the years, the YCA has continually sought to improve the quality of education through formal evaluations. These evaluations, including assessments by Sandwell LEA using OFSTED guidelines and feedback from Sandwell Adult & Family Learning, have consistently been positive, demonstrating the school’s commitment to educational excellence.
The Quran School, managed by the YCA, offers a specialized program focused on teaching the Quran to children. Established in response to parental demand, the school aims to instill Islamic values in young people while helping them read, understand, and recite the holy Quran. This program is available at an affordable cost of £250.
The Quran School employs experienced teachers who have completed basic teacher training, Level 1 Safeguarding children training, and Enhanced CRB checks. This ensures that the students receive high-quality education in a safe and nurturing environment.
Consistent with its commitment to high standards, the YCA has implemented regular formal evaluations to assess and enhance the teaching quality. Feedback from these evaluations, including those conducted by Sandwell LEA and Sandwell Adult & Family Learning, has been positive, showcasing the school’s dedication to providing superior religious education.
